ACE Microtechnology Achieves Microsoft’s Redefined More Stringent Gold Enterprise Resource Planning Competency

The redefined Gold and Silver Competencies represent Microsoft’s “Best in Class” and are a great achievement for ACE Microtechnology. Microsoft’s recent addition of the Silver competency level has significantly raised the standards for the Gold competency, making it more specific and difficult to attain. The Gold Competency is given to partners that “demonstrate the highest, most consistent capability and commitment within a targeted Microsoft Business Solution area.” The certifications acknowledge ACE Microtechnology’ expertise as a Value Added Reseller with the ability to implement and develop fully-integrated Microsoft Dynamics GP and CRM solutions that provides value to customers.

ACE Microtechnology Software has been a “Gold Certified Partner” of the Microsoft Partner Program for the past eight years. During the past year though, the program made several changes with a new name, The Microsoft Partner Network, and a revamped competency structure. The new competency structure now includes a Silver Certification level, raising the bar for the now harder to reach Gold Certification Level. The competencies are spread among six categories including: Application Platform, Business Productivity, Core Infrastructure, Customer Relationship Management and Enterprise Resource Planning, Cross Platform Solutions, and Small and Medium Business Customers. The changes will help partners showcase their expertise and differentiate themselves from their competition. In order to facilitate this, the new competency requirements now provide greater differentiation with the added Silver level, making Gold Certification higher and more challenging to achieve.

Similarly to before, companies must pass technical exams and business assessments based on the latest Microsoft technologies in order to receive certification. With the addition of the new Silver certification level the requirements for the Gold certification level have increased. In receiving the Gold Certification level the requirements that ACE Microtechnology has met include:

  • Employing with at least six Microsoft Certified Professionals with credentials not assigned to any other gold competency
  • Employing at least two persons who has passed an Implementation Methodology Assessment
  • Employing Sales and Pre-sales specialists that passed all qualifying exams.
  • Providing at least five verifiable customer references that feature the implementation, deployment, customization, or maintenance of a Microsoft Dynamics ERP or CRM solution
  • Meeting a minimum revenue/seat requirement.

ACE Holiday Fund Raiser

ACE Team is helping our client American Superba by paying tribute to Darin McClure and donating to Stephanie Harrell’s family this year for the Holiday Season!
2011 has added some unforeseen stress for this client and ACE would like to assist in some small way to make their holiday season more joyous!
Darin McClure, President of American Superba of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life at age 45, September 26, 2011 in Barcelona, Spain of a heart attack while on a business trip. Darin was born April 24, 1966 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Marvin Lee and Pearlene Southerland McClure. He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-two years, Lisa Jones McClure; son, Landon McClure; daughter, Ali McClure all of Chatsworth, GA.

And if that wasn’t enough one of their Key Employees Stephanie Harrell’s son Brock, age 8 was diagnosed with a rare disease *aplastic anemia (AA) and **paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) in early September, 2011.
They are looking at many options for Brock but so far a bone marrow transplant match has not been found. You can get the backstory and keep up with Brock’s journey at

*Aplastic anemia is a rare, non-contagious and often life-threatening disorder that results from the unexplained failure of the bone marrow to produce red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. A decrease in the production of blood cells means that patients are more susceptible to bleeding, fatigue and infections.
Aplastic anemia affects two to six people per million worldwide. The disease is more prevalent in Asia than in the Western world. Most cases occur in older adults, but a significant number of children are affected.

**Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), an acquired hematologic disorder characterized by intravascular hemolysis, nocturnal hemoglobinuria, thrombotic events, serious infections, and bone marrow failure, is very rare in children. PNH is caused by a somatic mutation of the phosphatidylinositol glycan (GPI) complementation class A (PIGA) gene, followed by a survival advantage of the PNH clone, which results in a deficiency of GPI-anchored proteins on hematopoietic cells. Currently, immunophenotypic GPI-linked anchor protein analysis has replaced the acid Ham and sucrose lysis test, as it provides a reliable diagnostic tool for this disease. The presence of PNH clones should be considered in every child with an acquired bone marrow failure syndrome, for example (hypoplastic) myelodysplastic syndrome and aplastic anemia, and/or unexpected serious thrombosis. Treatment of PNH in children is dependent on the clinical presentation. In cases of severe bone marrow failure, stem cell transplantation should be seriously considered as a therapeutic option even if no matched sibling donor is available. This article reviews the reported cases of PNH in children using the recently published guidelines for classification, diagnostics, and treatment.

Reconciling SOP Batches from WITHIN Dynamics GP

An article I posted sometime ago with a SQL Script that would reconcile SOP Batch Totalshas really developed legs recently.  It’s been downloaded several times a week for several months.  As a result, I felt some enhancement was in order.To that end, I’ve compiled the same logic, with few exceptions, into an assembly you can download here.  Copy this to your Addins folder and then you can perform this same function from the Sales Batch Entry Additional Menu without having to run a SQL script or access the Reconcile Receivable Amounts Window in GP.

One exception to the logic in the script is that this will not delete empty batches.  If you have an opinion as to how valuable that feature might be please leave a comment and I will evolve this accordingly.  This utility will simply do the following:

  1. Update batch totals for those that are NOT locked by a user with a Batch Activity Record (SY00800).  This was not designed to reconcile a specific batch but rather all batches at once.  So, don’t select a batch in Sales Batch Entry when executing this routine unless you want the batch selected to be excluded from the logic.
  2. Create missing Batch Header records for batches that do exist in SOP WORK (SOP10100) but not SY00500.

This will be especially useful if you want to enable GP users to resolve SOP Batch Total discrepancies on their own without having to grant them access to the Reconcile Receivables Amounts window.

This was developed on GP 2010 and tested on both GP 2010 and GP 10.
