ACE Microtechnology, Inc. Achieves a Microsoft Gold CRM Competency!

For Release

October 31, 2012

ACE Microtechnology, Inc. Achieves a Microsoft Gold CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Competency and renews it’s Gold ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Competency along with other Silver Competencies, Cloud Accelerate and Small Business Specialist!

ACE Microtechnology, Inc. earns distinction through demonstrated technology success and customer commitment.

Atlanta, GA — October 31st, 2012 — ACE Microtechnology, Microsoft Dynamics GP, CRM and SharePoint Consulting Partner, today announced it has achieved a Gold Customer Relationship Management competency, demonstrating its ability to meet Microsoft Corp. customers’ evolving needs in today’s dynamic business environment.

The Microsoft gold competency signifies to the market that a company has demonstrated the highest level of skill and achievement within a given technology specialization. All of the Microsoft competencies are designed to help differentiate a partner’s specific technology capabilities, helping customers find solution providers quickly and easily. Each competency has a unique set of requirements and benefits, formulated to accurately represent the specific skills and services that partners bring to the industry.  To achieve a competency, partners must demonstrate and maintain a significantly more rigorous set of requirements than are required for other competencies.

“We are very proud of our team of consultants at ACE who have exhibited the ability to maintain 97% Customer satisfaction (based on the latest independent survey from September, 2012), daily project schedules and at the same time be certified at the highest level within the Microsoft Partner Channel ecosystem!” explained Susan Looby, President. This provides extreme value to our Customers and continues to support our “Customer for Life” goals at ACE.

This accomplishment is very exciting for ACE as it approaches its’ 10th year Anniversary in 2013 thanks to all the support of our great customer base.

GP User Security Report

I received a request from a client who needed to supply a GP User Security Report to their auditors. Prior to GP version 10, we were at the mercy of the GP Report Writer report that was typically several thousands to several tens of thousands of pages long. We would usually modify the report to print one line per record to save space and so that it was easily exported, but even that produced a very large file. Now with the new Role-based Security in GP 10 and 2010, we have access to this data in SQL. I developed the script below and thought that others in the GP community might find it useful. It provides a nice, simple view of the user security in GP.  It does not drill down to the specific window level, but it has every user, the companies they access, the roles they are assigned to in each company and the task and task descriptions within each role.  Pretty sweet.  I hope you guys can use it someday.

The script:

Use dynamics

select rol.userid, cmp.interid, rol.securityroleid, tsk.securitytaskid, td.securitytaskname, td.securitytaskdesc

from SY10500 rol

inner join SY01500 cmp on rol.cmpanyid=cmp.cmpanyid

inner join SY10600 tsk on rol.securityroleid=tsk.securityroleid

inner join SY09000 td on tsk.securitytaskid=td.securitytaskid

order by rol.userid, cmp.interid, rol.securityroleid, tsk.securitytaskid

ACE Microtechnology Achieves Microsoft’s Redefined More Stringent Gold Enterprise Resource Planning Competency

January 1, 2012
Atlanta, GA – ACE Microtechnology Inc. a premier provider of enterprise wide software solutions for Microsoft Dynamics GP and CRM, has been awarded a Gold Enterprise Resource Planning Competency and Silver Customer Relationship Management Competencies by the Microsoft Partner Network. The redefined Gold and Silver Competencies represent Microsoft’s “Best in Class” and are a great achievement for ACE Microtechnology. Microsoft’s recent addition of the Silver competency level has significantly raised the standards for the Gold competency, making it more specific and difficult to attain. The Gold Competency is given to partners that “demonstrate the highest, most consistent capability and commitment within a targeted Microsoft Business Solution area.” The certifications acknowledge ACE Microtechnology’ expertise as a Value Added Reseller with the ability to implement and develop fully-integrated Microsoft Dynamics GP and CRM solutions that provides value to customers.

ACE Microtechnology CEO and President Susan Looby said of the achievement: “We are ecstatic to have met the higher requirements and to be a part of the 1% of partners that have achieved the goals for the newly created Gold Enterprise Resource Planning Competency and Silver Customer Relationship Management. The standards for qualification were raised significantly this past year and we are pleased to have achieved this level of certification. This is a win/win for our clients as our team has passed all certification exams at all levels in our organization from sales to consulting.

ACE Microtechnology Software has been a “Gold Certified Partner” of the Microsoft Partner Program for the past eight years. During the past year though, the program made several changes with a new name, The Microsoft Partner Network, and a revamped competency structure. The new competency structure now includes a Silver Certification level, raising the bar for the now harder to reach Gold Certification Level. The competencies are spread among six categories including: Application Platform, Business Productivity, Core Infrastructure, Customer Relationship Management and Enterprise Resource Planning, Cross Platform Solutions, and Small and Medium Business Customers. The changes will help partners showcase their expertise and differentiate themselves from their competition. In order to facilitate this, the new competency requirements now provide greater differentiation with the added Silver level, making Gold Certification higher and more challenging to achieve.

Similarly to before, companies must pass technical exams and business assessments based on the latest Microsoft technologies in order to receive certification. With the addition of the new Silver certification level the requirements for the Gold certification level have increased. In receiving the Gold Certification level the requirements that ACE Microtechnology has met include:

  • Employing with at least six Microsoft Certified Professionals with credentials not assigned to any other gold competency
  • Employing at least two persons who has passed an Implementation Methodology Assessment
  • Employing Sales and Pre-sales specialists that passed all qualifying exams.
  • Providing at least five verifiable customer references that feature the implementation, deployment, customization, or maintenance of a Microsoft Dynamics ERP or CRM solution
  • Meeting a minimum revenue/seat requirement.

About The Microsoft Partner Network

The Microsoft Partner Network is one of the largest, most diverse partner communities in the software industry. It is made up of more than 640,000 businesses, ISV’s and Resellers that work together to provide software solutions and services to Microsoft’s more than 160 million mutual customers worldwide. The program equips partners to transform their businesses and provide greater value and innovation for customers. It focuses on building relationships and sparking innovation between partners as well as providing opportunities to increase skill sets and better serve customers. Certification is given out on a yearly basis.

Reconciling SOP Batches from WITHIN Dynamics GP

Posted by Michael D Johnson II on Tuesday, August 09, 2011
An article I posted sometime ago with a SQL Script that would reconcile SOP Batch Totalshas really developed legs recently.  It’s been downloaded several times a week for several months.  As a result, I felt some enhancement was in order. To that end, I’ve compiled the same logic, with few exceptions, into an assembly you can download here.  Copy this to your Addins folder and then you can perform this same function from the Sales Batch Entry Additional Menu without having to run a SQL script or access the Reconcile Receivable Amounts Window in GP.

One exception to the logic in the script is that this will not delete empty batches.  If you have an opinion as to how valuable that feature might be please leave a comment and I will evolve this accordingly.  This utility will simply do the following:

  1. Update batch totals for those that are NOT locked by a user with a Batch Activity Record (SY00800).  This was not designed to reconcile a specific batch but rather all batches at once.  So, don’t select a batch in Sales Batch Entry when executing this routine unless you want the batch selected to be excluded from the logic.
  2. Create missing Batch Header records for batches that do exist in SOP WORK (SOP10100) but not SY00500.

This will be especially useful if you want to enable GP users to resolve SOP Batch Total discrepancies on their own without having to grant them access to the Reconcile Receivables Amounts window.

This was developed on GP 2010 and tested on both GP 2010 and GP 10.
